Virginia Beach to Coinjock, NC (ICW M/M50)

We got underway from our marina at 10AM, with forecasted sloppy Chesapeake waters. Winds and seas were on our bow, then diminished as we reached ICW Mile Marker Zero (M/M 0)in downtown Norfolk. Several normally-open rairoad bridges were in-use, slowing our progress. We left the Great Bridge lock (M/M12)at 2PM and finally cleared the last bridge (M/M20)at 3:30PM. We ran the thirty miles to Coinjock at 18.5 knots, arriving at Midway Marina just after dark.
