Left Charleston's City Marina on a cold and windy day. Wind pushed us against the pier where we were moored with sailboats in front and behind. I used the bow thruster to clear the sailboat's stern, while Kathy kept the swim platform away from the pier. Too tight to spin the boat, without collision, so we maneuvered back and forth into spaces between boats, until we were able to complete a 180 degree turn and exit between the two boat rows.
Heading 65 miles south, we passed only four southbound and two northbound boats in five hours of travel. Left at Charleston's absolute low tide, which then followed us. Crossed several "skinny water" areas, but arrived safely in Beaufort for a two-night stop, a bit after 3:00PM. We walked through the delightful town before supper. Tomorrow night, the mainstreet will be blocked for late-night shopping and a pre-Christmas community celebration. Daytime temperatures will be in the 70s!
