After doing another load of laundry in the morning, we took City Marina's shuttle into Charleston's historic area. After a noon-time, hour-long carriage ride through beautiful, historic homes, we ate a fabulous lunch at Justine's Kitchen; a local eatery serving traditional, low-country food. Kath had pecan-crusted whiting with colard greens, while I ate flounder over grits. Both of us also had okra gumbo and a blueberry-peach cobbler for dessert.
Charleston is a magnificant stop, although it's a long walk off the City Marina's "mega-pier". We're moored next to floating-pier piling 1150, which we've discovered represents the distance to the pier's end. A long hoof!!
Tomorrow, we'll explore Charleston's battery waterfront and return to Justine's for a lunch of shrimp creole. On Thursday, we're off to Beaufort, SC.
