Life in Key West

We've settled into a pleasant routine. Our bow points northeast. The morning sun through our forward berth's porthole awakens me around 7:00 AM. Kathy continues to sleep as I get up, drink OJ, make coffee and walk to the marina office for a morning paper. While sitting on the fantail, I read the paper and drink coffee. After about an hour, Kath joins me and we start breakfast. Morning temperatures are in the low 70s, with a light breeze. Daytimes, we're enjoying 80 degree temps.

We've split our time between the pool, walking and riding our bikes. We rode our bicycles throughout the island, finding funky, little stop-overs for drinks or snacks while we enjoy exploring this lovely place. We've eaten aboard mostly, but with friends visiting this weekend will hit some of our favorite restaurants. Tonight, after watching the sunset from mallory Square, it will be Maison de Pepe for Cuban food. Tomorrow, we'll drives 30 mile up the road to Big Pine Key, to visit their huge flea market, followed by a lunch at the No-Name Pub on No-Name Key. A very eclectic place, the Pub's parking lot is filled with everything from motorcycles to Mercedes and everything in-between. Food and their micro-brew is great and service is surley. Years ago, patrons started tacking autographed dollar bills to the walls and ceilings. Best estimate is that there is about $50,000 hanging there.
