Boca Raton (M/M1045) to Melbourne, FL (M/M915)

After delaying our departure from Pete and Dana Noren's home because of high winds and seas, we pointed Ebb Tide II north and made our way up the Intra-coastal Waterway. Six hours later, after waiting for some bridge openings and idling through many manatee habitats, we arrived in Pirates Cove Marina, by St. Lucie Inlet at 4:00 PM.

A quick walk into town to a nearby fish store got a nice piece of smoked dolphin for me and a sushi-grade tuna steak for Kathy for our supper. Soon after returning to the boat, the promised thunderstorms arrived and provided intermittent rain through the night.

Underway at 9:30AM in clearing skies, we traveled another 80+ miles up the wide Indian River's narrow channel, arriving in Melbourne Harbor Marina at 3:45 PM. We took a walk through the historic area nearby. Very interesting and a nice change of pace to see "old Florida" instead of the wealthy glitz that now represents the state.

Rain is expected tonight and it's 70 degrees - now that we've been here for months-it feels chilly!!
